“Can I sell my items to you?”
Answer
No - Clothes Less Traveled is a thrift shop that sells our community’s generous donations. We are not a consignment shop and cannot purchase your items.

“Can I return my purchase or trade an item for something else?”
Answer
We do not allow returns, refunds, or exchanges. If you have purchased an appliance or electronic item that that does not work correctly, bring it back with your receipt within 7 days to receive store credit.

“Are your team members all volunteers or all paid staff?”
Answer
Our team includes both volunteers and paid staff.
Clothes Less Traveled relies on hundreds of dedicated volunteers to fulfill our mission. Our nonprofit is led by an entirely volunteer Board of Directors. Our thrift shops employ a small team of 30 paid staff members.

Question
“Why can’t you accept certain items as donations?”
Answer
Due to limited storage, when a department fills up with items, we have to temporarily stop accepting more items until the ones we already have are sold. There are also safety regulations that mean we cannot accept hazardous chemicals, weapons, medication, food, batteries, mattresses and bed pillows, and recalled items.

“What happens if I accidentally donate something?”
Answer
Please email us with a detailed description of the donation (pictures are super helpful if you have any!). We will do our best to recover it if it has not yet been sold.
Remember, once donations exit a donor’s vehicle they become property of Clothes Less Traveled. This is the ONLY instance in which Clothes Less Traveled property may leave the building without a receipt.

“Do donors and volunteers get discounts?”
Answer
We occasionally give away $10 coupons to our donors to thank them for their generosity.
Volunteers at CLT get discounts depending on the hours volunteered each month. There are also many other benefits to volunteering! You will find camaraderie among like-minded people, have fun while making a difference in your community, help the environment, and if you are a student you can earn a college scholarship!
